Guard’s view
Guard:
“Hey, it’s not safe to be traveling alone.”
Ariel:
“I’ll be fine.”
Crazy gal. I’m not about to try and stop a noble, but unless she’s way stronger than she looks, there’s no way a woman traveling alone is safe. Maybe I should tell Julian. He’s technically a noble right? He might be able to do something.
Captain’s view
I got reports of a noble lady arriving from the west gate, and leaving through the east gate. This makes no sense. There’s nothing in the west but wilderness and monsters. I’ll have to see if anyone got her name, and then send a report to central command.

Ariel’s view
Travel for me is quite easy. Monsters ignore me, and I don’t need to take any breaks. I can walk pretty much forever without stopping. It’s very nice to have such wondrous endurance; really, this new body and new life feel great!
During the second day, I got waylaid by a pair of dirty men.
Man 1:
“Hey missy.”
I didn’t give him time to finish. He was getting way too close, and clearly reaching for my face, with a dirty look on his own, so I punched him in the chin, and he fell unconscious. Seeing how easily he went down, I knocked out the other one too. It really wasn’t a fight.
Was this the standard bandit encounter that always seems to happen in stories?
I left them as they were; unconscious on the road.

Captain Bernard’s view
As the captain of the Mel city guard, I like to keep an close eye on who comes and goes in town. Recently, I learned of something odd: A young noble lady arrived in plain clothes at the west gate. This alone isn’t too odd, except my scouts didn’t report seeing her until a day later. Normally reports of travelers arrive a day or more before they reach the gates. This means she traveled faster than the scouts.
Scout’s view
Ow, that lady has a mean punch. Glad my jaw isn’t broken. Left that bit out of the report. He’d get angry if he learned we showed ourselves. Seeing a pretty lady alone like that was just too tempting. Should’ve known she’d be strong. No one travels alone unless they’re strong.

Ariel’s view
As a monster, I naturally emit a field of power around me, and can perceive things within it. While my field perception isn’t very impressive, it’s still good enough to notice when I cross the boundary between two monster lord domains. My teacher’s domain came to an end as I approached this city, and someone else’s began. What’s strange, is that I can tell the lord is in the direction of the castle on the hill behind the town. It might just be coincidence; I can’t gauge distance to a monster lord well.
There was a line to get into town, apparently a sizable number of merchants came through the one gate. What was really odd though, was that as I approached I realized the entire town was blanketed in a magic fog. It’s not something a human could notice, but any monster would notice immediately. My field perception is blocked by it. I’m not sure who would do this, nor why. Being left with just sight and sound and scent and touch, feels very limiting now.
Thankfully, the line to get in went fairly quickly. The guards did little more than a cursory glance over people before waving them in. Whomever the ruler of this city is either doesn’t care much about security, or has some hidden trick.
